ARTS & CRAFT FAIR FOOD BOOTH
The Arts & Craft Fair weekend is upon us! When you are out and about at the fair, stop in at the MOLS Food Booth, located on the corner of Hauer Bros. Electric, 122 SE 1 Ave. There is a new breakfast menu this year! We are selling Helen Maurer’s Famous Cinnamon Rolls and coffee. For lunch, we will be serving hamburgers and brats from Gosch’s with sauerkraut, chips, beverages, specialty candy, and Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream! All proceeds will support MOLS projects. Thanks to all the school families who are helping with this event!!

CRAFT FAIR PARKING
Eighth grade advisories will be parking cars Saturday morning for the annual Arts & Craft Fair. This is a fundraiser for the 8th grade class. Please consider supporting this fundraiser by parking in the available OLOL church and MOLMS playground lots!

2008 MARATHON
As many of you know, this year’s MOLS annual Marathon will be held on Sunday, October 5th. Pledge sheets are being sent home today, so students may get a start on asking family, friends, relatives, and neighbors for pledges.

This year, families with the last names beginning with the letter L through Q are requested to help with the Marathon.
A planning meeting for the Marathon will be held this coming Monday, Sept. 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the Mary of Lourdes Elementary School Library. Hopefully most families can attend this important meeting and help plan this fun event! Please call either Marathon co-chairs if you have any questions or need more information.

2008 Marathon Co-Chairpersons:
Sue Kloeckl 745-2625
Allison Czajkowski 632-4735

HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MEETING
The first Home & School meeting of the school year will be on Thursday, September 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the MOLES library. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend! The Home & School Association is a great way to get involved in Mary of Lourdes School! A mini First Aid Presentation is scheduled at the end of the September meeting, which should be very beneficial for all families who attend! Please mark your calendars and join us!

SCHOOL PICTURE DAY
School pictures will be taken on Thursday, September 25th by Enstrom Studios. The photographer will be at the elementary school in the morning and at the middle school in the afternoon. Packet information will be coming home a week prior to this date.

ALUMNI ADDRESSES REQUESTED
Mary of Lourdes School has formed an alumni committee and is encouraging all MOLS alumni (nineteen year-olds on up), as well as St. Mary's Grade School, Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School, and Holy Angels Academy alumni to drop off an updated address and phone # or call MOLMS office (632-6742) with this information. The MOL Alumni Committee would like to update the current alumni list. Thanks for your help!

Elementary School:
LIBRARY BOOKS
When the library inventory was done this summer, it was discovered that we are missing a number of library books that were checked out last year. If you have had any of these books at home during the summer, please return them so other students can have the benefit of checking these books out also. It would really be appreciated if they would be returned by next week.

ARRIVAL BEFORE SCHOOL
Elementary students should not be arriving for the school day before 7:40 a.m. since that is when supervision begins. If a student is occasionally to be dropped before 7:40, please call Mr. Schieffert at 632-5408 to discuss arrangements.

Middle School:
WELCOME BACK
A special welcome to all the fifth graders and new students in the middle school building, as well as returning students! We also welcome Mrs. Saehr, our new para, and Mrs. Strack, our new MOL school nurse.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR
BOOK PROJECT
We have some paperback books that need covering with contact paper. If you are able to help with this project, please call the MOLMS office (632-6742). Volunteers may bring the books home to do this. Thank you!

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT HANDBOOK
Parents and students, please remember to sign the student handbook and playground forms, stating that you have read and discussed the handbook guidelines. These forms should be returned to school no later than Monday, September 8th.

ARRIVAL BEFORE SCHOOL
Middle school students may be dropped off at (the earliest) 7:40 a.m. Fifth and sixth grade students are asked to report to Mrs. Holey’s classroom and seventh and eighth graders are requested to go to Mr. Tollefson’s classroom until dismissal at 7:50 a.m. They may visit with friends in the hallway until the morning bell rings at 8:10 a.m.

AFTER SCHOOL PICK UP
Since the buses park in front of the middle school (on 3rd St. NW), the staff is requesting that parents who pick up middle school children at the end of the day should park vehicles and wait on 1st Avenue or in the school’s parking lot. This will help with the safety of everyone. Thank you!
